Getting Ready

Getting ready for vacation to Alaska, via Portland OR, Seattle WA, Vancouver BC. Hopefully (Without a doubt) will be getting some good pictures. Hoping to capture the Northern Lights. Will let you know.

ISO 6400

Well shot alot of photo's at my daughters play (a funny thing happened to the way to the forum). and I am very impressed with the ISO 6400 on the D300. For obvious reasons, I could not use flash. I was able to take over 400 photo's. 2/3 of which turned out pretty good. Still haven't had time to do any processing. Also took another 1000 or so photo's at my youngest daughters Horse Show's. 1st show she took 4th in equitation, 1st in pleasure, 4th in equitation with pattern. 2nd show, she took 6th in equitation, 4th in pleasure, and 3rd in equitation with pattern(which is great, considering she went over the pattern for the first time 10 minutes before going into the arena).

D300

Well.. ISO25600 is a dead project.  I couldn't wait any longer. I cancelled the D3 and Ordered the D300.. and It's in and I've taken over 200 photos with it already.. I didn't realize how much I missed High FPS until I started shooting with the D300... 6fps.. I was at my daughter horseback lesson. and it was sooooo awsome... Well maybe I'll do the ISO6400?  Who knows. For now.. I'm very happy and content to see what I can push the D300 into doing..

Where did January Go?

Here it is the end of January, and I haven't been able to get out and shoot at all. I have several projects that I want to get shooting on, but personal life (real life) has not afforded me the time.  I also have a new idea for a blog or addition to this one, which I will try and get going soon as my new camera arrives.  Been listening to alot of podcasts lately, and would love to get into that, but I think that is stretching things toooo thin. With the writing I would like to do, and the books & calendars...  you get the picture. I'll try and get more information posted when I can.
